On November 12, Clarivate, a leading global information analysis agency, officially released its 2025 list of "Highly Cited Researchers." Professor Yu Quanqing of the School of Automotive Engineering at the Weihai Campus was successfully selected for the list based on his outstanding academic achievements and broad international influence in the field of energy storage/power battery system management.

This year’s list covers over 1,300 institutions in 60 countries and regions worldwide, with 6,868 scientists (7,131 individual entries) selected, including 1,406 researchers from mainland China. As a highly credible and authoritative list in the international academic community, the Clarivate Analytics "Highly Cited Researchers" selection process is led by bibliometric experts and data scientists from the Clarivate Analytics Institute for Scientific Information (ISI), who develop the core methodology. The selection uses citation data from the Web of Science Core Collection as an objective basis, combined with rigorous qualitative analysis to conduct a multi-dimensional and stringent evaluation. Its core evaluation criteria not only consider the scale of citations of academic achievements but also focus on the originality, rigor, and disciplinary contribution of research, ultimately selecting top scholars in their respective fields whose papers have been cited in the top 1% globally over the past decade.

Professor Yu Quanqing has long been dedicated to the research field of energy storage and power battery system management, consistently focusing on tackling core technologies in response to the strategic needs of China's new energy industry. He has led numerous national and provincial-level research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation General Program, projects under the NSFC Regional Joint Fund, and the Shandong Provincial Natural Science Foundation General Program. These efforts have yielded a series of landmark research achievements with independent intellectual property rights. To date, he has published over 70 academic papers, 16 of which have been recognized as "ESI Highly Cited Papers," and has been granted 19 invention patents. He was awarded the Weihai Youth Science and Technology Award in 2022 and has been consecutively listed in the "World's Top 2% Scientists" ranking (published by Stanford University) from 2022 to 2025.
