At 8:30a.m. of July 17th, the fourth lecture of Harbin Institute of Technology Weihai International Summer School on Land-Sky-Ocean was held at the lecture hall on the second floor of the library. Doctor Miao Yonggang from School of Languages and Literature taught foreign delegates traditional Chinese cultures, like Taoism and other diverse cultures.

It Began with the origin and main thoughts of Taoism. Then Dr. Miao introduced Chinese traditional medical culture as well as Chinese Kungfu. Finally, he talked about Chinese traditional architecture and literature, which aroused foreign delegates’ great interests. They made active interactions with Dr. Miao and showed deep enthusiasm and interests to Chinese traditional culture.

At 10 a.m., foreign delegates from various countries started sharing their own cultures with others. During the two hours in the lecture hall, the great cultural exchanges broaden delegates’ horizons.

First of all, delegate from Vietnam introduced some typical characteristics of her culture to us, along with some special snacks, which looked so delicious.

After the wonderful presentation of the girl from Vietnam, friends from New Zealand introduced their splendid cultures, and their fascinating songs left other delegates a great impression.

Also, Alex from Russia taught us a kind of Russian dancing, which made the presentation reach a climax.

And David from Scotland gave us a humorous and active presentation of Scotland and his university.

Finally, Conor introduced Ireland to all the delegates.

We spent the whole morning learning a lot about different cultures with great enthusiasm!

There was a free activity in the afternoon, did you encounter them in the campus?
