Professor Xu Xiaofei Meets with the Group of Fraunhofer ISE

Professor Xu Xiaofei, Vice-President of HIT and President of HITWH, met with Harry Wirth (Director of PV department of Fraunhofer ISE), who attended the ninth PVPMC on December 6. The two sides had a discussion on the exchanges and the cooperation in the development of new energy like photovoltaic solar energy and application areas. Wang Shitao (CTO of Arctech Solar, Dean of Research Institute of Arctech) and other directors and faculty of School of Automotive Engineering, School of Information and Electrical Engineering, Graduate School, International Office were present at the meeting.

Professor Xu introduced the establishment background of HIT, development status, and the latest ranking of engineering around the world. He focused on the “1233” characteristic development concept, talents cultivation, measures and achievement of international education, and the construction of distinctive disciplines, especially the new energy discipline. He hoped to strengthen the understanding and communication with Fraunhofer ISE and establish all-round cooperation in the use of PV solar and other new energy, the exchange of scientific researchers and the joint cultivation of students.

Harry Wirth introduced the basic situation of Fraunhofer ISE and elaborated on his research group which worked on the module, system and reliability of PV. He also focused on the development, testing and quality assurance of photovoltaic module and power plant. He expected the cooperation and communication with HIT on the field of exploiting and utilization of PV solar energy. The two sides had a discussion on the joint cultivation of graduates.

    During the meeting, the two sides also explored the mode of joint students cultivation and the concrete collaboration of scientific researches.
