On December 4, Professor Xu Xiaofei (Vice-President of HIT and President of HITWH), met with Amy Halloran (Senior manager of Sandia National Laboratories in the United States), Joshua Stein, Bruce King, distinguished researchers, Boris Farnung (Head of PV Power Plant of Fraunhofer ISE in Germany), and Guo Zhongliang (General Manager of Taiwan Lok Li Industrial Co., Ltd), who came to attend the ninth photovoltaic (PV) Performance Modeling Collaborative (PVPMC) at the conference room in the main building. The parties had a discussion on the scientific research cooperation and joint students cultivation.

Professor Xu introduced HIT’s establishment background, current situation and the latest rank of engineering in the World. He focused on the "1233" characteristic development concept of Weihai campus, students cultivation, and measures and achievements of international education. He looked forward to corporate with the Sandia National Laboratory in the United States and Fraunhofer ISE in Germany on the exploiting and utilization of PV scholar energy.

        Amy Halloran and Boris Farnung introduced their research fields, directions and achievements respectively, expressing their willingness to exchange and cooperate with HIT on scientific researches.

        Wang Shitao (CTO of Arctech Solar, Dean of Research Institute of Arctech), Xu Longjun (Director of Science and Technology Development Department in Weihai campus), Dongke (Deputy Director of International Office), Tan Jianyu (Professor of School of Automotive Engineering) also attended the meeting.

It is reported that the ninth PVPMC was jointly hosted by the Solar Energy Research Institute of HIT, Fraunhofer ISE in Germany and the Sandia National Laboratory in the United States from December 5, 2017 to December 7, 2017 in Weihai campus.
