The First China & Korea High School Presidential Symposium Holds in HITWH

On November 23th, the First China & Korea High School Presidential Symposium was held in HITWH. Professor Xu Xiaofei, Vice-President of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) and President of Harbin Institute of Technology, Weihai (HITWH), and almost 20 high school principals from China and South Korea attended this symposium where both sides discussed on talent cultivation, student exchange and other aspects. It was presided by Dr. Dong Ke, Deputy Director of International Office.

After watching the admissions video of HITWH, President Xu introduced HIT’s establishment and development, departments setting, students’ quantity and campus distribution, outstanding disciplines and key research fields, as well as the engineering ranking among global universities. With the development strategies and “1-2-3-3” Guiding Principle, he also emphasized on the efforts and achievements HITWH has made of student cultivation, innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as internationalized education, hoping to strengthen understanding and exchanges with all participant schools and carry out more cooperation in the field of enrolling best students and promoting student exchanges.

The representatives from Weihai Experimental Foreign Language School (CHN), Weihai Ivy International School (CHN), Weihai Daguanghua International School (CHN), and Wendeng New First High School (CHN) as well as Taesung High School (KR), Hongju High School (KR), Gwangcheon High School (KR), Seoil High School (KR), Janghang High School (KR), Shinpyeong High School (KR), and Sapgyo High School (KR), respectively  introduced the characteristic programs and outstanding achievements of their schools in the field of international education

During the symposium, all participants also elaborately discussed on such issues as strengthening the exchange and cooperation between universities and high schools, the exchange of students and joint student cultivation between secondary schools in the two countries.

In the afternoon, South Korea principals also visited Weihai Experimental Foreign Language School, Weihai Ivy International School, and Weihai Daguanghua International School.
