On November 7 afternoon, Horst Beige, Professor of Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg (MLU), accompanied by Shi Chen, Project Director of Beijing Aiweike Culture Development Center, visited Harbin Institute of Technology, Weihai (HITWH). Xu Xiaofei, Vice-President of HIT and President of HITWH, met them in the main building. The two sides held cordial talks on collaboration in scientific research. Wei Junjie, Dean of the School of Science and related officials in International Office attended the meeting.

Professor Xu briefed Horst beige about HIT’s establishment, history and recent development as well as its rankings in the field of engineering. He introduced HITWH’s 1-2-3-3” Guiding Principle, the achievement of international education and student cultivation, hoping to enhance mutual understanding with MLU and promote bilateral cooperation in the exchanges and cooperation of scientific research.

Professor Horst Beige introduced the basic information of MLU. Built in 1502, MLU is a famous national comprehensive research-oriented university in Germany and also one of the oldest universities in Europe. Its main campus is located in Halle, Saale. Currently, MLU has 265 undergraduate and master degree majors and 22000 students. Professor Horst Beige also briefly introduced his main research direction and achievements in materials physics, expressing the strong hope to cooperate with HITWH in this field.
