HRT in FSC2015

The Formula Student China (FSC) competition held by SAE-China challenge teams of university undergraduate and graduate students to conceive, design, fabricate, develop and compete with small, formula style, vehicles. During the competition, the racing teams are requested to design and manufacture the vehicle themselves and take part in both static and dynamic events with the vehicle. The first FSC competition was held in 2010, and Harbin Institute of Technology Racing Team (HRT) is one of the teams that took part in FSC ever since it was held for the first time in 2010.

The Sixth FSC was held in Xiangyang, Hubei province from 13 Oct. to 17 Oct. 2015. All the members of HRT poured a great deal of effort into the competition and showed their passion for car racing. In the end, HRT won the first prize in Engineering Design and ANSYS Design, second prize in Autocross and the Honda prize, and ranked fourth among 71 racing teams with the new combustion car HRT15C.

The First SAE mini Baja in China

The first SAE mini Baja Competition in China, an self-made Off-road vehicle race participated by college students, was hold in Weifang in 8,2015. And the same as FSC, it is a combination of static and dynamic events. These Static events consist of design evaluation, while dynamic events include hill climb, land maneuverability and endurance. What is more, before the race, every team must get through vehicle inspection to make sure it’s safety.

As a newly established team, CSG-HRT Baja ranked second with their HRT15B after three-day competition. CSG-HRT15B, the first Off-road vehicle designed by CSG-HRT Baja, weighs 200kg decorated by carbon fiber and gorgeous painting. It obtained high praise due to it’s technology, such as floating disc brakes, CVT (continues variable transmission), carbon body and so on, though CSG-HRT Baja were mainly composed of sophomores.

As Lubin Yang, the captain, said,“ cross country is our life because racing is our dream, it pains but pays.” With the beginning of next season, CSG-HRT15B exits the stage of history, but everyone will remember it’s name. KEEP RACING! HRT!
