On October 9th, a delegation led by Titova·Tamila, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of St. Petersburg State Transport University, Russia, visited the campus. Vice President Qian Hongliang of the campus held talks with the guests in Conference Room 2 of the main building, where both sides exchanged in-depth views on talent cultivation and scientific research cooperation. Relevant personnel from the School of International Education also attended the meeting.
Qian Hongliang introduced Harbin Institute of Technology's (HIT) three-campus structure, development overview, and achievements in cooperation with Russia. He stated that this year marks the 40th anniversary of HIT's establishment in Weihai, and the educational cooperation project with St. Petersburg State Transport University is an important initiative for both sides to explore innovative international education. He expressed his hope that both sides would take this cooperation as an opportunity to further deepen practical cooperation in areas such as talent cultivation, cultural exchanges, and scientific research, jointly promoting the early achievement of more fruitful results in the cooperation between the two universities and making positive contributions to deepening China-Russia higher education cooperation.
Titova·Tamila highly praised Harbin Institute of Technology's important position and influence in the field of international higher education and expressed her appreciation for the achievements of the Weihai campus over the past 40 years. She introduced the basic situation, educational characteristics, and research advantages of St. Petersburg State Transport University, and reviewed the history of cooperation between the two universities in recent years. She expressed her hope to carry out in-depth cooperation in areas such as educational programs, faculty and student exchanges, scientific research, and academic exchanges, jointly promoting the relationship between the two universities to a new level.
